“And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.”
Madhuvan is in what is called a dry tropical forest.
Howler monkeys, pizotes, armadillos, and iguanas are some of the wild species that can be seen and heard here. Depending on what time of the year you come, there are different kinds of trees flowering in their certain colors, exotic birds such as toucans coming through and some variations in temperature and humidity.
December through April is the dry season. In May the rains start to pick up and in October and November there is generally full-on downpour.
We have a garden and several fruit tree orchards, growing different types of banana, mango, pineapple, starfruit, papaya, citrus, coconut, avocado, greens, grains and roots.
And last but not least, we have two dogs, two cats and a horse.
